My one piece of advice for bloggers: Part 4
Filed Under Blogger
Tim Brownson is the star of Part 3 of my series “One piece of advice for Bloggers” . Tim is a life coach. No I don’t know what one is either, but apparently if I pay him lots of money he helps me. Now one of us has kept up one side of that bargain. I will let you guess which one…
Anyway Tim rather stupidly asked me to write him a testimonial. So I did.
“Thanks to Tim I am now a millionaire, own 2 yachts, sleep with supermodels and have been on the cover of Time magazine. Or not. But if those were my life goals I think Tim might just be the person to get me there.
Tim rationalises my irrationalities, tames my fears and reframes the shit out of everything. He’s that good I hope to actually pay him what I owe him sometime! Though he will probably just waste the money on getting American quality teeth to satisfy his visa conditions.”
I do find Tim a great life coach and he is also a fantastic blogger. He writes articles that are deliberately long winded to make sure you read them and not skim them. He does all the things people would probably advise you not to do such as question religion and has even been known to use profanities (and yes that post was about me!) . He also comes from the wrong side of the pennines, has a terrible taste in music and wastes all his money on dental work to fit in with his American buddies. His rather hilarious first response to my request for one piece of advice was via twitter “my one piece of advice is never to offer pieces of advice. Is that ok?” which I deemed unacceptable and well crap. So eventually after a couple of days of meditation I got this:
Here you go!
My one piece of advice to newbie bloggers is “Have fun”
I don’t care what you do in life if it isn’t fun you probably won’t do it for long. Before you jump down my throat and say “Brushing my teeth isn’t fun and neither is feeding my dog or even brushing my dogs teeth after I have fed it” and you’d be right. So maybe that bit was wrong, but if you have a blog it really should be fun. Who wants to get up and have to write about something that is boring to them? Nobody that’s who, not even you or that guy down the road that blogs about Goat Herding in North East Morocco. He really is into that.
It’s always fun to have fun, so have some more of it. You’re going to be dead one day and when you are you’ll be sorry you didn’t take my one piece of advice.
Have fun.
Now I can’t really poke fun at Tim’s advice seeing I normally have to pay for it, plus I generally agree with most things he says. Not all of it mind you. Especially when he starts going all spiritual and meta physical on me. But mostly what Tim talks is common sense. Of course I already heed his advice. This blog is all about fun, unfortunately mostly at other peoples expense…
Anyway that piece of advice shall fit in nicely to the list which means I have to consistently have fun, be 200% sarcastic and treat it like a business.
Thanks Tim and by way of thanks here is Tims most popular you tube video
Now I am getting a bit concerned that all these “‘bloggers” are getting in the way of the the real business. So I have just one more to do and then I will get back to writing to ‘proper ‘ celebrities and famous people. You know the ones you read about in the newspapers and on tv, no more of these internet riff raff who actually give you prompt and mostly sensible (apart from that Nick Cernis) advice. I’ll get back to the ones who mostly ignore you or fob you off.

Dang, Tim told me that the secret to blogging was doing guest posts. Maybe he thought I was having too much fun with my blog? Now I feel paranoid.
In any case, I feel cheated. Then again, I haven’t given him any money either.
